What is the musk? The musk belongs to the family of Briofite (Bryophyta), a group of plants with more than 23,000 species in the world. These plants grow in damp places, on the ground, on the rocks and on the bark of trees which directly absorb the humidity becoming more resistant to water surges but also more susceptible to air pollution. They are therefore an appropriate target for the study of the impact of external factors even pollution on the micro-nature. Herein kids will be invited to discover microorganisms not visible to the naked eye which lived inside the musk with tha aim of a stereomicroscope. The kids will be invited to appreciate the different morphology of these little organisms. Every child can easily repeat the experiment at home using a toy microscope.
In recent years, DNA has become the protagonist of scientific journals as well of newspapers and TV. What is the DNA? DNA is a long molecule that contains the "project" of a given living organism as a plant, animal or a micro-organism. In higher organisms, DNA is contained in the nucleus of cells. Except for a few exceptions such as blood cells of mammals which do not have the nucleus, all cells have a copy of DNA. In this laboratory, the kids will be invited to purify DNA from a banana or tomato. Every child can easily repeat the experiment at home using a toy microscope.
In this laboratory the kids will be invited to resolve questions that require imagination, curiosity and observation using geometric forms colourful and pleasant to touch. The main goal of the laboratory is to introduce kids to classify objects.
Using soccer balls but also prisms and other objects, the kids will be invited to build a wide variety of forms, stimulating their curiosity.
The complexity and the chaos play a role in both non-biological and biological system including the Life. Using spefici software, people will be invited to familiarise with these concepts.
Using a mini-planetarium kids will be introduced to "look around" in adifferent way, at the discovery of famous stars like as Arturo or Cassiopeia.
People will navigate with its own location into the web, exploring the possibilities offered by search engines like Google . What is Wikipedia will be also discussed.
